Everything Is Wonderful – Trial Antivirus Software Review

No more having a scan pop up to slow your computer down (Yes, I know you can schedule a scan to run at 2AM, but many people shut their computers off at night). I had been running Avira AntiVirus Premium Security Suite, and it worked well enough, but it was always pestering me.

I’m a SW professional and mentioned this to a peer who immediately recognized the pattern and said Yea, Norton becomes a virus.’ My impression is that Norton has gone to the dark side. I can’t imagine ever going with them again. But that was my mistake, not the products. Again, I love this product and the folks I purchased it from refunded my money upon return, only thing I did not like was being charged an unnecessary restocking fee of $10 for such a lightweight object. Instead, Symantec prefers to try to gouge its customers. For this software which is currently selling for $37.99 on Amazon, Symantec charges $59.99 for renewal. So, when I had Norton 2010, I was able to upgrade freely to the version of the software midway through my license period. However, when my license expired I found it much cheaper to purchase the software on amazon than to just automatically extend my coverage directly from Symantec. found and more importantly fixed a Trojan worm that trend micro could not. only issue is it really slows my computer (Pentium 4 2.6 GHz, 1280 MB RAM, XP Home). What more can I say other than great product and great price. I have been using Norton for years. It should be pain-free and smooth. Not cumbersome, slow, and idiotic.

First of all, the Norton software makes my computer extremely slow to boot up, and I have a relatively new PC with lots of memory and CPU power. I try to open a browser, and I am not kidding I have sat and waited as long as 45 – 90 seconds before I could get a browser to open because there is so much memory being used from scanning going on in the background behind the scenes. This is a terrific deal for protecting 3 computers for one year. I’ve been using Norton Internet Security (NIS) for a long time, it is easy to set up, to use and scan your system. This Internet Security software is junk, with a myriad of real world problems and issues regarding it slowing down your day to day computing. What good does an internet security package do if it kills your productivity?!

Amazon’s cost can’t be beat out in the stores. After ordering from one of Amazon’s providers, I chose the next best deal on the same product, and it arrived just two days before my previous Edition of Norton Internet Security was to expire.

I’m still waiting to see if a charge comes through on my credit card before I load my new. Other than the Norton trying to auto-renew me, the software kept me problem-free on both business laptops for all of 2010. This is why I prefer Macs; you don’t have all this aggravation. I like Norton especially since they improved it. I continued buying products when they went into antivirus, but became very unhappy with the “bloatware” that they began selling – really slowed my system down and created a lot of compatibility problems with other programs. This year I was shopping for a new program, as my ZoneAlarm was expired and a new subscription was a lot more money than I wanted to spend.

All in all, a great product! contemporary coffee tables.
